Location

Tyersal is a village next to Bradford and 8-miles west of the centre of Leeds.

The Leeds Metropolitan boundary runs down the middle of Tyersal with the east side of the village sitting in Bradford and the west side Leeds.

Things to Do

Playground

The playground is at the entrance to the park of Tyersal Road. It has a variety of equipment suitable for different ages. Fly on the zipline, swing in  the bucket, rock back and forth on the rocker, and spin on the roundabout.

Football

At the bottom of the park, there is one full-sized grass football pitch with fixed goals, for the public to use.

Bowling

Tyersal Park Bowling Club play on the crown green bowling pitch in the park. The club plays in the Bradford Crown Green Bowling Association.’

Trim Trail

The trail is just under half a kilometre. There is some exercise stations placed along the route to help you work-out using calisthenics – exercise movements that use your body weight to do the job… no machines here!

Volunteer with the Friends of Group

The Friends of Tyersal Park group are actively working to improve the facilities at the park. Anyone is welcome to join the group in their regular activities like litter picking and tree planting. For the latest updates head to the Facebook group.

History

Tyersal joined Bradford in 1882 and part of it became part of the Leeds metropolitan district in 1974.

Amenities

The nearest public toilet is next door to the park at the Tyersal Club.

There are rubbish and dog waste bins in the park.

Food and Drink

At the end of Tyersal Road towards the village centre you can visit the Not Just Sandwiches shop which serves hot and cold food.

Parking

Park for free just outside the park entrance on Tyersal Road, BD4 8EZ (Google Map Direction)

Access

The park is fully accessible to wheelchairs and pushchairs.
