Set down a tucked away footpath off Calverley Lane, this is a great little place to escape to for a little while!

Things to Do
Dog Walking
Brookfield Recreation Ground has lots of grass pathways that zig zag around the green space. This adds another level of intrigue when taking the dog on a walk. And on the flip the green space is perfect for playing fetch.
Football
The grass football pitch is a 9-a-side junior size that’s perfect for amateur matches. It can be used from dawn to dusk because there is no floodlights. Bear in mind that there is no changing rooms to accommodate too. Calverley Juniors Football Club use this facility. More info on Calverley Juniors can be found online here.
Playground
The playground is ideal for the 3-12 years age range. There’s exciting installations like the zip wire and climbing frame for the older ones. With small slides, swings and a roundabout for the little ones.

Ball Games
As the big open green space lends itself well for football matches we know that taking a couple of ball games are a good idea. A few of our favourites are football, cricket and even dodgeball!

History
Nestled within the recreation ground is an epitaph with 60 names of servicemen from the local area that lost their lives during The Great War of 1914-18.

The nearest toilet is at the Calverley Arms Pub; a 5-minute walk away to the north-west of the recreation ground.

Brookfield Recreation Ground comes with picnic benches. You’d be silly not to take a picnic along with you!
Café & Restaurant
For a proper eatery you will need to venture a little distance north east on Rodley Lane. You’ll come across Café Fraiche with some tasty breakfast choices and a quality range of paninis, all for a reasonable price. A little further along is Ephesus a Turkish restaurant that sprinkles a unique flavour and a lot of charm on your dining experience. Enjoy!
