Woodside Fisheries is a popular fish and chip shop in Horsforth. Fish is the main attraction here but the shops homemade steak pies have become a bit of a legend. That’s two feathers in the bow for this chippy!
It’s fish and chip Whitby quality without the mileage at Woodside where every portion is cooked to order fresh. Alongside the staple fish and chip dinner you can get a meaty twist on a haggis fritter or battered cheese burger. And the homemade steak pies are really popular too! It’s all about the fish here but this place has a big frying game.
There are a small selection of soft drinks available.
If you get past the cue twisting out onto the road – it’s a regular spot if you take a regular journey up Low Lane. Then you’ll enter the warm and welcoming atmosphere of Woodside Fisheries. There’s even a thing for VW beetles framed up on the wall.

Jump on the First Bus Leeds 50A on Leeds Eastgate and take it direct to the stop just outside the chippy on Low Lane; this journey will take you 25-minutes.
A taxi will take you around 15-minutes from the centre of Leeds.
Horsforth train station – served by a regular service to and from Leeds station – is a 15-minute walk up Low Lane.

There’s a micro brewery aptly named Woodside Micro Pub a few doors up from the fish and chip shop. Roll next door for a few real ales to finish off your chippy in style.
