The Clock Inn is a craft beer pub on Roundhay Road in Oakwood. It sits directly opposite the historic clock tower it takes its name from, run by Leeds craft brewer Salt Beer Factory and reopened in April 2025 after a careful refurbishment. The pub leans into great British pub roots: roaring real fires, cosy corners, cask ales and a warm welcome.
The bar combines cask, craft cans and rotating cocktails on tap, while BaoBros23 run the kitchen with an Asian street food menu strong on halal, vegetarian and vegan options. Walk-in only and dog friendly, with a heated pagoda terrace that fills the pavement out front on warm days.
Good place to go if you are looking for dinner and lunch.
There are gluten free, halal, vegan friendly, and vegetarian friendly food options available.

The Food
The kitchen is run by BaoBros23, a separate Asian street food crew that took over the Oakwood residency at the April 2025 relaunch. Food service runs Wednesday evening through Sunday afternoon, while the bar pours all week. The menu groups into classic bao, bao dogs, loaded fries, ribs and wings, all built around halal proteins with strong vegetarian and vegan coverage.
The standout is the Spicy Korean pork ribs, master-stock braised then glazed in Korean BBQ sauce and showered with toasted sesame; the kind of order that hits the table to share and quietly disappears one rib at a time.
Smoke, sweetness and char arrive in equal measure, with the long braise leaving the meat tender enough to slip the bone.
For something lighter, the Halloumi Umami classic bao layers lemon myrte crumbed halloumi over an Italian slaw of grape, apple, cabbage and parsley, finished with sumac and yuzu mayo. Vegans head for the Black Bean Kung Fu bao dog: crispy tofu, spicy yuzu mayo, Nam Jim pickled mango.
Around those highlights, loaded fries cover the easy middle ground, wings arrive halal and crisp in three flavours, and a small range of pickled sides and dips lets you tune the heat to taste. Portions are sized to share, assembly is quick, and most plates land within a few minutes of the order going in. The kitchen also handles gluten-free, halal, vegetarian and vegan diets without making a fuss about it.
Beyond BaoBros23, the pub keeps a bar offering of its own, with a proper pork pie served with mash, mushy peas and gravy that’s available until the day’s batch sells out.

The Drink
Salt Beer Factory’s house line dominates the bar, alongside Ossett cask ales, guest taps and craft cans in the fridges. The Jute Session IPA is the easy hand-puller, all juicy citrus and low bitterness. Cocktails arrive on tap; six classics including a popular salted caramel espresso martini, all designed to pour quickly without losing the plot.
For non-alcoholic, coffee comes from Marsden roaster Dark Woods, with a flat white that drinks both properly local and properly dark, plus a full tea selection and Franklin & Sons tonic mixers behind the bar.
The Place
Inside, dark green walls run from dado rail to ceiling, broken by exposed brick around the fireplace, with Victorian black-and-white floor tiles underfoot and a long single room that traces the building’s bank-era bones. Seating is layered: mustard velvet armchairs at round dark-stained tables, brown leather banquettes along the booth nooks, light pine plank tables in the window zone. Warm Edison bulb pendants drop the evening into amber light.
Vintage framed prints, mirrors and pub ephemera cluster across the walls, and grandfather clocks on a first-floor ledge nod to the venue’s name and the historic clock tower across the road. A Cask Marque Certificate of Excellence sits by the bar, supported by Ossett Brewery. Out front, a substantial covered pagoda terrace runs the length of the pavement, kitted out with infra-red heaters overhead, herb-stuffed planters branded for SALT and Ossett, and bench seating that fills wall-to-wall on sunny days.
The Location
The Clock Inn sits at 488 Roundhay Road in Oakwood, directly opposite the Oakwood Clock Tower the venue takes its name from. The tower itself moved up from Kirkgate Market in 1912. Roundhay Park, one of Europe’s largest urban parks, lies a five-minute walk away, while Leeds city centre is a short bus hop south along the same road. The LS8 stretch around the clock tower is one of the most distinctive village-y bits of north Leeds.

After a session at the Clock Inn, Roundhay Park is the natural next move, five minutes up the road on foot, with the lake, the deer, the gardens and the woodland walks more than enough to walk off the ribs.
For a longer afternoon, head into nearby Chapel Allerton for its high street of independent shops and cafés, or carry on out to Temple Newsam for a stately home and acres of parkland. Cyclists can pick up the Meanwood Valley Trail and follow it towards the city.
