The Old Bar is Leeds University’s take on a traditional pub.
It has been an institutional part of the university since 1939; serving real ale and pub grub. It’s basically your local, but on campus!
Expect a weekly schedule of events that include music and sport.

The Food
The staple menu covers an all day range of cooked breakfast, sandwiches, pub classics and burgers. There is also a small selection of sides and desserts to top it off.
All day breakfasts to stacks built of hash-browns and sausage; pub classics like lasagne and chilli; beef and chicken burgers stacked with extras; and large Yorkshire puddings filled with mash and sausages. All of the menu comes with vegetarian and vegan options like Quorn and quinoa on the burger front.
Food is served everyday until 10pm.

The Drink
Get merry at the Old Bar on pitchers, spirits and mixers, wines, bottles and cans of locally brewed ales. If you’re after alcohol free they have that too!
Prices are really reasonable in comparison to bars and pubs in the city.
The Place
Without a recent refurb there’s plenty of plush seating space in front of the two super sized TVs.
Week nights come tastefully themed: sports, crafting and quizzing.
The highlight of the week is ‘Fruity’ Friday – at pushing 20-years old it’s the longest running student club night. Come for three different rooms of non-stop fruity tunes across pop, indie and R&B.
The Old Bar is also one stop off on the Otley Run. Pick between here and The Terrace.
The Location
Old Pub is located on the Leeds University campus. It is 1-mile north of the centre of Leeds.
History
Leeds University Union has made a home in the Old Bar. Originally founded at the Yorkshire College Students Association in 1877.
Various collections of the townhouses were used as common rooms, before the University Union was built and completed in 1939.
The Old Bar and Union building was only made possible by a generous financial donation from a W Riley-Smith of Tadcaster.

The nearest parking is paid at the LGI multi-story car park, LS2 9DA (Google Map Directions) – before journeying checkout the car parking prices.
Access
The Old Bar has a step free access side entrance and a lift down to the bar area.
Inside there is an accessible and gender neutral toilet.
