The word ‘Fika’ is Swedish for slowing down and appreciating the things you value in life, like good coffee! This Swedish ritual comes with lots of sweet and savoury bites, all wrapped up in good ole Yorkshire spirit. It’s fair to say that Fika is more than a coffee shop, it’s a state of mind.
There are gluten free, vegan friendly, and vegetarian friendly food options available.
Take a look around
Another Swedish word that’s relevant when it comes to dinner is ‘Lagöm’ which translates (roughly) to “just about the right amount, in balance” in English. Nothing better can describe a Vegan friendly menu that comes with things like ‘sunshine bagels’ as big as your head.
There’s also a full on patisserie and cake selection with fancy treats like macarons thrown in. And you can even takeaway fresh bread baked inhouse.
Scandinavians take their coffee very seriously, some might say ritualistically. All the coffee strictly comes from the best independent roasters in Leeds. Alongside these top quality beans you can also get craft beers, wines and cocktails.
Nestled in the leafy suburb of Far Headingley; Fika oozes a contemporary and cool vibe that works really well with the whole ethos of the place. The ritual of having coffee with those you love isn’t stifled by an exclusivity. And this shows in their warm welcoming of dogs and families.
Where to Park
There is no dedicated parking at Fika. You will need to park on one of the residential side streets off Otley Road to the right of the café.
