Location
Menston Park is located in the charming valley of the River Wharfe, only 6-miles from Bradford and 10-miles north-west of Leeds.
Things to Do
Playground
A traditional playground set-up currently occupies the play area space. This is made up of a timber climbing structure, swings and a roundabout. A wooden trim trail connects and runs alongside the path, leading to a big slide and second set of wings at the other side of the park.
You can look forward to some 2024 playground additions that will include a ‘Amazon Tower’ with a steel tube slide and a tall tree climber. ‘Smaller play features like a crawling tower, bug magnifier and new picnic tables are also planned in the developments.
Skate Park
The skate park has been built on a smooth concrete space. Dotted around the area is ramps, boxes and rails for a mixture of vert and street style skating.
Football
In the centre of the park is one marked adult sized football pitch with fixed goal posts. This pitch regularly hosts local matches.
Tennis
Two full-sized concrete tennis courts are located at the eastern side of the park. These are free to book via the LTA’s Tennis Clubspark system.
Outdoor Gym
An outdoor gym area with calisthenic stations and cardio focused equipment like a cross-trainer, leg swing and stepper is available to use for a workout.

Events
Free fun days for children and young people are regularly hosted by Bradford City Council in the summer holidays. These events – which are free and open to everyone – have hosted inflatables, sports, climbing walls, dance, arts and crafts in the past.
History
Historically, Menston developed as a settlement farming community that thrived off the natural resources of the Wharfe Valley. Alongside Ilkley, Burley-in-Wharfedale and Otley, it makes up part of the ancient Wapentake of Skyrack.

Food and Drink
The park has several picnic benches and seats dotted around the green space. These make for a lovely picnic in the summer months.
For a more substantial meal you could visit the Menston Arms pub, a 10-minute walk away in the centre of Menston. This pub serves food and drink daily and welcomes families.
Parking
Menston Park has no car park. The nearest free parking is on-street on Leathley Avenue, which runs parallel to the park.
Access
Menston Park has disability accessible entrances that suitable for a wheelchair user. The paths are pathed and lit.
