Location

Holt Park is just over 3-hectares in size located between Adel and Lawnswood in the north of Leeds.

Things to Do

Walking

The park is on the smaller scale but that doesn’t stop you strolling around the ready made loop around the tennis courts and bowling green. Just a 20-minute walk a day will boost your energy and quality of sleep.

Tennis

There are 3-tennis-courts to use at Holt Park. These are all hard surface courts in good condition.

Do I need to book a tennis court?

It’s free to use the tennis court but you will need to book a court space on the LTA clubspark website.

Bowling Green

Holt Park bowling green is 1 of 40 outdoor crown greens located in the parks of Leeds. Holt Park Bowling Club use this crown green to socially bowl and compete. Whether you want to play for fun or you want to compete in a local bowling association – Holt Park has that opportunity!

Games

The clusters of wide open grassy space are ideal for rocking up with a few park games. Age and number dependent, you might fancy a striking game like rounders or cricket; or pop the jumpers down for goal posts to have a game of football. If you haven’t got any equipment then the old school classics like tag, hide and seek or statues come to mind.

History

Since 2013 this green space has been protected by the Queen Elizabeth II Fields in Trust. The trust has been protecting land intended for recreational and public use since 1925.

The aim is to maintain a legally binding agreement between the trust and the landowner to keep it a public park and recreation space.

Amenities

The nearest public toilet is at Holt Park Active, LS16 7RX (Google Map Direction)

Dog waste and rubbish bins are dotted around the green space.

Food and Drink

Next door to Holt Park is the High Farm pub. Alongside the usual drinks and grub, the pub comes with all the bells and whistles – karaoke, live music, quiz nights and live sport.

Parking

Free on-site parking. LS16 7QG (Google Map Directions) – there are spaces for up to 50 cars.

Access

The park is fully accessible with wide entry points and paths suitable for manual and electric wheelchairs.
