Playground

The playground is at the centre of the park. Repairs have not been made to the equipment for a considerable amount of time. You can play on the swings, climbing frame and slide, and roundabout. Parents can take a break on one of the benches in the enclosed playground.

MUGA

There is an enclosed concrete multi-use-games-area that’s big enough for a 5-a-side football and basketball match.

Football

For a full-sized football game you can use the fixed goal grass pitch next to the MUGA.

Dog Walking

With wide open green space surrounding the playground, this space makes for a popular place to walk the dog and let the pooch off the leash!

History

The Swarcliffe housing estate was developed by Leeds City Council in the 1950s. Much of the housing was either semi-detached or storey block flats. Today only one of the tallest high rise flat blocks remains after much of it was demolished.

Parks like Farndale were built to provide this community with rest bite and leisure.

Amenities

The nearest public toilet is a 5-minute walk at Swarcliffe Working Men’s Club.

Rubbish bins can be found in the park.

There are benches within the playground.

Food and Drink

Mojos is one of the only food and drink options on the Swarcliffe Estate. They serve all your typical fast food takeaway fayre.

Parking

Park for free opposite the park on the residential road of Farndale Approach, LS14 5BR (Google Map Directions)

Access

Farndale Park is fully accessible to wheelchair and pushchair users.
