The Tetley is a leader in showcasing contemporary art in the north of England. The beautiful art deco headquarters, once the centre of the universe for the Tetley Brewery operation now offers a menu of opportunity for the artist and family alike. Come and soak up a contemporary art exhibition, take part in a workshop or event, or simply kick back on the roof terrace with some tasty food and a pint of bitter.
There are gluten free, vegan friendly, and vegetarian friendly food options available.
Take a look around
Every Friday a different street food vendor takes over the Tetley terrace. Keep an eye on the bar and kitchen section of the site for the next edition.
Eggs, pancakes and steaks!
Toasties, burgers, steak and potatoes – all jazzed up with some great flavours by head chef Rob Kaye. And on a Sunday the roasts – beef, lamb, chicken and nut roast – are served up!
Sticky toffee pudding; Tea Panna Cotta; Affogato to name a few.
The bar serves soft drinks; coffees; wines; ciders; beers; and of course the famous no 3 Tetley’s Pale Ale supped by Joshua himself way back in 1868 – its’ all about the pale ale malt providing the body and colour here… a classic resurrected.
Gallery & Events
Originally built at the height of the art deco period in the 1930s. The building got a serious makeover in 2013 to bring back the unique gallery spaces; artist residency studios; and a learning studio; and creative office space for businesses.
Events and exhibitions are curated by local to international artists every year, offering a significant public platform alongside outstanding national and international work, often presented in the UK for the first time. Check the exhibition page on the Tetley website or keep an eye on their Facebook page for up and coming events.
