The Drink

They are a licensed venue serving a range of spirits, beers and wines. They also brew their own beer- Reluctant Hero. There are a small selection of soft drinks available.

The Place

Left Bank is a place to meet friends, learn something new, attend an event, work away from the office, drink good coffee and get inspired.

The Space

Split into two spaces – indoors and outdoors – Left Bank comes with lots of quirks and versatility for a range of cultural activities.

Indoors, the architectural distinctions of its bygone era like the stain glass windows and the pews have been left. This clash of styles compliments the building; where the vicar led the congregation you can now see a DJ booth – it’s that kind of vibe!

A bar is placed in one corner of the church; tables to work and catch-up another; the majority of the space centrally is open which makes it a versatile one for temporary events and activities – think workshops and live music gigs.

Outside the front is a green space that can host a range of activities including children’s bouncy castles, street food trucks and general summer goodness like acoustic gigs and sunshine drinking.

History

In a previous life Left Bank was St. Margaret’s Church, a community driven church that was home to an Anglican congregation for 8 decades. After the church’s closure in the early noughties, Left Bank came into existence as a charitable trust. Since then, the mission has been to bring the space back to life as a cultural space of creativity.  It is a home for organisations and individuals to bring their ideas to life with and for the community.
