The Food
Left Bank serve a small breakfast menu that includes crumpets and toast. This light brekkie choice gets better with a range of bagels good enough for a brunch, the standout is the sausage, cheese and hash brown combo.
For lunch they roll out the cream cheese, tofu and vegan chicken on bagels. It’s more of the same with a choice of toasties and baked potatoes later on in the day. And there’s a great split of vegan and veggie options throughout.
Keep an eye out for the ‘Plate Up’ events at Left Bank – a first come, first served PAYF vegetarian 3-course-meal. The grub for these pop up dinners are sourced from a local food waste project.

The Drink
Left Bank are a licensed venue serving a range of spirits, beers and wines. They also brew their own beer – Reluctant Hero… worth a sup!
A range of well brewed and well priced coffees are available from the café. There is also small selection of soft drinks available.
The Place
Left Bank is a place to meet friends, learn something new, attend an event, work away from the office, drink good coffee and get inspired.
The Space
Split into two spaces – indoors and outdoors – Left Bank comes with lots of quirks and versatility for a range of cultural activities; it’s worth checking the monthly events calendar to see what’s going on!
Indoors, the architectural distinctions of its bygone era, such as the stain glass windows and the pews remain in parts. Where the vicar led the congregation you can now see a DJ booth – it’s that kind of vibe!
A bar is located in the left hand corner as you walk in to the building; adjoining this area is a cluster of tables to work and socialise. The majority of the space centrally has been gutted of the original congregation seating, and left spacious for events and activities – think workshops and live music gigs!
Outside the front is a pleasant green space that can host a range of activities that have included markets, street food stalls and general summer goodness like acoustic gigs and sunshine drinking.
History
In a previous life Left Bank was St. Margaret’s Church, a community driven church that was home to an Anglican congregation for 8 decades. After the church’s closure in the early noughties, Left Bank came into existence as a charitable trust. Since then, the mission has been to bring the space back to life as a cultural space of creativity. It is a home for organisations and individuals to bring their ideas to life with and for the community.
