The Food

The menu centres on a charcoal grill, with the house steak cut — Picanha, taken from the top of the rump — running through several dishes. Steak Frites pairs an eight-ounce Picanha with salted fries and creamy peppercorn sauce, while the Steak Chimichurri takes the same cut cajun-spiced, thinly sliced, and finished with homemade chimichurri.

Burgers make up a substantial section of the menu, all served on brioche buns with a gluten-free option available. The Club is the signature: a six-ounce beef patty topped with smoked streaky bacon, cheddar, a breadcrumbed poached egg, and house sauce. The Lucky Chicken brings Asian salt and pepper seasoning, sriracha mayo, and caramelised onion, while The ‘Nduja layers spicy Italian spreadable pork sausage over a beef patty with green pesto mayo.

Beyond the grill, the Blackened Salmon arrives with a spicy rub and creamy parmesan sauce, and the Lamb Kofta comes as two harissa-brushed skewers on soft flatbread with cucumber, tomato, red onion, and mint yoghurt. Salads hold their own too — the Grilled Cajun Chicken Salad combines sweet potato, red pepper, pomegranate seeds, and a mango and lime dressing.

Vegetarian and vegan diners are well catered for. The Halloumi burger features panko-coated halloumi with pan-fried mushroom and sticky sweet chilli sauce, while The Vegan offers a homemade cajun bean burger on a pretzel bun with salsa and guacamole. Many dishes carry gluten-free or dairy-free markers, and six house dressings — including Mango and Lime, Spicy Chilli and Ginger, and Beetroot and Thyme — cover a range of dietary needs.

The Drink

Eight lines of draught beer anchor the bar, running from Estrella and Peroni to local craft options including Kirkstall Virtuous session IPA, Beavertown Neck Oil, and Northern Monk Little Faith. Guinness and Cornish Orchid Cider round out the taps, with bottled options extending to Modelo Especial, Kirkstall Belgian Blonde, and gluten-free Daura Damm.

The cocktail list leans into creative twists on classics. A Tiramisu Espresso Martini blends vodka, Kahlua, and Disaronno Velvet with tiramisu syrup, while the Rhubarb Negroni swaps in rhubarb syrup alongside Campari and gin. Spritz options include a Violet Spritz with lavender syrup and a Hugo Spritz with elderflower.

The wine selection spans Pinot Grigio and Sauvignon Blanc through to an organic Malbec from Mendoza, with Prosecco by the glass and Perrier-Jouët Champagne by the bottle.

A dedicated low-alcohol section offers five options, including Estrella Galicia 0%, Kirkstall Virtuous 0.5%, and Guinness 0%. Soft drinks include draught Coke and lemonade, Fever Tree tonics and mixers, Bottlegreen Raspberry Lemonade, and Appletiser.

The Place

The main dining room — known as the Galley Area — stretches along two walls of floor-to-ceiling glazing, flooding the space with natural light by day and framing views of the surrounding glass office towers and a stone church after dark. Long farm-style tables with black steel A-frame trestle legs run the length of the room, flanked by black tufted leather bench seats on the window side and tan cognac leather hairpin-leg chairs opposite. Underfoot, a central runner of geometric eight-pointed star encaustic tiles gives way to herringbone light oak parquet on either side.

Clusters of ribbed amber glass pendant lamps hang at varying heights from the exposed black-painted industrial ceiling, casting a warm glow against visible ductwork and track lighting. Bird-of-paradise and monstera plants in white square planters line the glazed facade, softening the industrial palette.

A warm oak slatted screen divides the Galley Area from the Ceiling Rose Room, an intimate private hire space anchored by ornate raised medallion panels covering the back wall. Dark tufted banquette booths, teal bar stools, and copper pendant spotlights give this zone a distinctly different character — warmer and more enclosed, suited to private events for up to sixty.

Outside, a large paved terrace on the Wellington Place plaza offers open-air dining and drinking through the warmer months, with space for seated meals and larger standing events.
