The Drink
The Fleece serves a range of cask ales, including award-winning Timothy Taylor’s Landlord bitter. This session bitter with subtle citrus notes is the pub’s flagship brew and most popular pour.
Four cask ales are always available, alongside a regularly changing guest ale – usually a pale ale from local Yorkshire breweries. Annual beer festivals showcase more unusual styles like imperial stouts and saisons.
Soft drinks are also available.
The Place
The Fleece has a warm and welcoming atmosphere, with lots of movie memorabilia decorating the walls.
There is a comfortable lounge area with upholstered seating as well as a more rustic “snug” area with a tiled floor and wood-burning fireplace. The central bar serves a selection of cask ales and has treats available for visiting dogs.
There is also a separate tap room showing sports on TV. Outside there is a well-appointed beer garden.
Quiz
Every Wednesday and Sunday night from 9pm you can take part in the Fleece music quiz. You can expect a free supper to get you going.
It is £1 per person which is donated to charity. Prizes are free beer and wine.
