Take a look around

The Food

The signature is a build-your-own noodle bowl assembled in three steps. Pick the noodle, add a topping such as duck or seafood, then choose one of six soup bases including tom yum and tangy pickle. Roasted duck is the standout topping. The skin crackles, the meat slides clean from the bone, and the broth picks up a deep savoury richness. Reviewers come back specifically for it. The same duck appears over Punchy Rice for diners skipping noodles.

Home-made dumplings are the menu’s second anchor, the brand’s full name is Dumplings & Noodles. Five fillings – beef onion, beef celery, lamb spring onion, chicken, or vegetarian mixed-veg sell by the plate from six up to twenty-four pieces. The Beef Noodle Pho is another regular fixture, layered with rice noodles, sliced beef, and aromatics.

Sides cover satay chicken skewers, Thai fish cakes, mini spring rolls, popcorn chicken, kimchi, and curry samosas. The whole menu carries halal certification. Vegetarian dishes are clearly marked, and several are plausibly vegan in line with the brand’s stated stance. Make-your-own hot pot and Chinese malatang are also available for groups craving something more interactive.

The Drink

No alcohol is poured here, the venue runs fully halal. That’s a deliberate position tied to the chain’s roots and to Leeds’s broad community mix. Press coverage and the on-site signage agree across the board.

The named drink to look for is Ice Red Tea, a house refresher that turns up in regular social-feed offers paired with noodle dishes. It’s bright, sweet, and ice-cold. A clean foil to a salty broth. Standard soft drinks fill out the rest of the fridge. Expect chilled bottles and fizzy classics, easy add-ons grabbed alongside the noodle order.

The Place

Entrance

A dramatic butterfly chandelier marks the arrival point. Illuminated butterfly shapes cascade from a circular gold ring-light fitting against the raw concrete ceiling.

Behind it sits a dark-brown medallion bearing the Mr Su characters in gold lettering, mounted on a grey stone-effect panel. An artificial green plant wall at the base, dressed with red and white flowers, completes the tableau.

Main Dining Room

Floor-to-ceiling windows in slim dark steel frames flood the dining room with daylight. Tan-caramel banquettes hug the wall. Dark wood tables and mid-brown chairs fill the centre floor, with three amber pendants hanging overhead, warm against medium grey walls. Vertical artificial green plant panels break up the window bays.

On the Floor

Order at the till and a numbered slip arrives in your hand; the open layout means food finds whichever table you’ve claimed. The format keeps things quick and casual. Lunch hums with energy and the evening softens as the lights take over.

The Location

Cross Belgrave Street sits in the Little London / Woodhouse pocket of Leeds city centre. The city’s northern quarter starts on the doorstep, and the University precinct is a short stroll west. The restaurant takes a unit inside Vita Student St Albans, a modern accommodation building with a clean architectural shell. The brand’s first Leeds outlet sits a few minutes south on Blenheim Terrace, opened back in 2019. Leeds Direct Arena is roughly five minutes’ walk for pre-show fans.

Independent eateries, cafés, and bars line the surrounding streets, drawing students and locals through the day and into the evening.
