The Food
There’s a common confusion that good Caribbean food has to be hot. It doesn’t. It’s warming, and Maureen’s is just that.
Some of the most popular dishes like curry goat and jerk chicken come cooked in a fruity gravy using only the freshest ingredients, herbs and spices.
More belly warming soups alternate on a regular basis. The Oxtail Red Pea Soup is one you must try!
And then there’s other well known favourites like the mac n cheese and BBQ chicken wings.
To finish Maureen has some home made cakes on the menu that she’s perfected over the last 20-years. Give one of these a go, like the fresh pineapple cake! A sweet treat to finish a feast, and all at a very reasonable price.

Maureen’s is an authentic Caribbean café with a laidback atmosphere. The small eatery has seating for around 20 people at plastic tables and chairs.
Focus isn’t on the décor but the food, with red-top newspapers on tables rather than tablecloths. Ambient noise comes from chefs chatting with regular customers rather than background music.
Drop your pretence when you come here and settle into the home feel atmosphere. One where staff chat to the punters and you’re given the choice to eat in or take away.
