The Drink

Kapow Coffee offers a wide variety of hot and cold coffee drinks using beans from local roasters including Maude Coffee and North Star.

You can choose from espresso drinks like lattes, cappuccinos, and flat whites, as well as batch brew and pour over coffee made with single origin beans.

The café’s most popular drink is their Revelation espresso blend from Union Hand-roasted which is always available on the menu. Guest espressos from other notable roasters are rotated frequently to allowing the opportunity to sample different flavours.

In addition to coffee, Kapow serves loose leaf tea from Bristol’s Canton Tea Co. as well as hot chocolate for non-coffee drinkers.

Soy, oat, and other non-dairy milk alternatives are available.

The Place

Kapow Coffee is located in Thornton’s Arcade, a Victorian shopping arcade.

The narrow space is set across three floors, connected by a steep staircase along the left wall. The ground floor area houses the coffee counter and seating at the front by the windows looking out into the arcade. The décor here features orange walls and wooden floors and benches.

Upstairs on the first floor is a brighter, more open seating area with arched windows, yellow walls, and wood floorboards. The seating consists of armchairs by the front window and tables lining the right wall.

On the top floor is a smaller blue-walled room with three arched windows under the glass arcade roof. This peaceful space contains a single four-person table.

Kapow displays local artwork on its walls from various artists.

The Location

Kapow Coffee is located in Thornton’s Arcade, a Victorian shopping arcade in central Leeds. The arcade links Briggate and Lands Lane, two of the city’s main shopping streets.
