The Food

The menu opens with an unusually deep selection of starters. Vegetarian options alone run to over a dozen dishes, from crispy masala dosa — a South Indian rice and lentil crepe filled with spiced potato — to steamed momos, the Indo-Nepali dumplings that appear across veg, chicken, and prawn varieties. Pani puri, aloo tikki chaat, and samosa chaat bring the flavours of Indian street food to the table, while chilli paneer and paneer tikka offer bolder, tandoor-fired bites.

From the tandoori section, the mixed grill makes a strong sharing centrepiece, and seekh kebabs and salmon tikka round out the clay-oven selection. The chef’s specialities lean into regional Indian cooking: murgh Chettinad delivers the black pepper heat of Tamil Nadu, gosht Kohlapuri brings Maharashtrian fire, and chicken Nilgiri introduces the fragrant green spicing of South India’s hill country. Achari chicken or lamb, cooked with pickling spices, adds a tangy counterpoint.

Biryani arrives in a traditional handi pot, with the Apna Style Biryani — the kitchen’s own recipe — available across five protein options including tandoori chicken and tandoori king prawn. The full range of classic curries covers everything from korma and butter chicken through to a fiery phall, with each available across multiple proteins. A dedicated vegetarian mains section features saag paneer, dhal makhani, chana masala, and butter paneer, ensuring plant-based diners have plenty beyond the starters.

Desserts stay traditional: gulab jamun, gajar ka halwa (a slow-cooked carrot sweet), and mottka kulfi served in the classic clay pot style.

The Drink

Fusion Spice runs a full licensed bar — a rarity among suburban Indian restaurants, and one that shapes the whole dining experience. Draught taps pour Kingfisher, Bombay Bicycle IPA, and Lucky Buddha, all brands with an Indian or Asian identity that sit naturally alongside the food. Behind the bar, an extensive spirits collection includes Jack Daniel’s, Glenfiddich, and Malibu, displayed on geometric glass shelving lit from below. Wine and cocktail stemware hangs overhead, and a mocktail menu offers alcohol-free options for those who prefer them.

Soft drinks and hot beverages are also available, and the bar is fully operational for dine-in service — though alcohol does not appear on delivery platform menus.

The Place

The signature design choice at Fusion Spice is vivid neon pink and magenta LED strip lighting that runs along the ceiling, behind the bar shelving, and under the glassware — bathing the entire space in bold, saturated colour. This is not subtle mood lighting; it is a deliberate statement that pushes the room closer to a contemporary bar-restaurant than a traditional curry house.

The bar itself acts as the centrepiece: a geometric metal-framed unit with glass shelves, backed by LED strips and topped with hanging stemware. Above it, original plasterwork cornice ceiling detailing survives from the building’s earlier life, creating an unexpected contrast between period architecture and modern neon. A large decorative wall clock with individual 3D numerals sits against a warm mauve wall, adding a quirky focal point.

The dining room pairs dark-upholstered chairs with square dark-topped tables, set against warm cream walls washed in purple accent light. The interior underwent a renovation in late 2025, and the refreshed space draws a busy, buzzy crowd — particularly in the evenings, when the neon comes into its own and tables fill with groups and families.
