They started this chippy in 2014 because they wanted to add quality to the choice of the nations favourite dish in Yorkshire.

The Food
Captain Thornton’s use only the freshest ingredients. The batter is a secret mixed combination. The fish is sustainably caught. And the spuds are selected from British crops to maintain the highest quality and freshness.
The menu contains the obvious favourites. The top picks are the Haddock, Yorkshire fish cake, and jumbo sausage. Saucy sides include peas, gravy and curry.
If you fancy something a little different with your chips you can pick from the lesser famous scampi, nuggets, spam and scallops. And even some fried halloumi slices.
Captain Thornton’s like a lunch time deal. At lunch you can grab a bargain small fish and chips. If you’re after a family feed they also do a family offer!
Little captain’s can pick from the children’s menu with a choice of fish bites, chicken nuggets and jumbo sausage.
