The house speciality is Italian gelato made with Alpine milk, available in a rotating selection of flavours and served in individual black paper cups from a dedicated display counter. The artisan dessert chefs prepare each order fresh, with a strong emphasis on customisation.

Belgian waffles arrive loaded with cream and a generous drizzle of chocolate or caramel sauce, a rich, shareable plate that suits the venue’s indulgent register. The crêpe menu takes a similarly lavish approach: expect large flat crêpes topped with sliced banana, dark cherries, rich dark chocolate sauce, white chocolate drizzle and a dusting of powdered sugar.

The Fresh Pancake Breakfast section offers made-to-order pancakes with an unusually broad syrup selection: Maple, Honey, Belgian Milk Chocolate, Nutella Chocolate, Caramel, Lemon, Cherry, Blueberry, Raspberry, Strawberry, Mango, Passionfruit, Blue Tropical, White Chocolate, Coconut and Mint, alongside fresh fruit add-ons including banana, blueberry, raspberry and strawberry.

Beyond the headline items, the menu extends to cookie dough served warm in a bowl, a rich chocolate fudge cake finished with edible gold decoration, Pengelly’s oats presented on a wooden board with blueberries, strawberries and cream, layered sundaes in tall glasses topped with a cookie and fresh berries, and a selection of cheesecakes and artisan slices.

Gluten-free, dairy-free and halal options are available across the menu.

39 Desserts operates an entirely non-alcoholic drinks menu, with the focus on indulgent soft options that complement the dessert offering.

The Italian Affogato bridges the food and drink menus. A shot of espresso poured directly over a scoop of the house gelato. The dedicated mocktail section offers alcohol-free mixed drinks, while frappes and soda floats provide cold, blended alternatives.

Hot drinks cover the essentials: English Breakfast Tea, Earl Grey, Peppermint, Super Fruit and Green Tea on the tea side, with Espresso, Americano, Cappuccino and Café Latte for coffee. Shakes, smoothies and a range of chilled drinks round out the selection.

The interior spans three distinct zones, each with its own character. The service counter area features a warm terracotta-tiled feature wall behind the bar, with floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the green tree canopy of the Cardigan Fields car park. Bright and airy during the day, with a contemporary dessert-bar feel.

The dining area shifts the mood toward something more indulgent: white tufted button-back banquette booth seating in cream upholstery sits beneath a grid-patterned tiled ceiling with pinspot downlights, creating a moodier, lounge-like atmosphere after dark.

The gelato display zone is the most decorative, gold metallic leaf ceiling panels bordered by burgundy trim, with brass teardrop-shaped pendant lights casting a warm glow over the counter. It is a large, open venue with plenty of space for families and groups, though no outdoor seating is available.

Cardigan Fields Leisure Park sits on Kirkstall Road, roughly a mile and a half west of Leeds city centre. The retail and leisure park includes a cinema, bowling alley and gym alongside several restaurants. Burley Park train station is approximately a ten-minute walk away.

Free parking is available on-site at Cardigan Fields Leisure Park directly outside the venue.
