Leeds’ parks have hectares of outdoor meadowlands dotted around the parks. These colourful meadows are filled with wildflowers and wildlife.
The outdoor meadowlands contain an array of wildflower, from meadowsweet and angelica to sorrel and bluebells. These vibrant patches make for a good place to come wildlife spotting – in particular to see birds and butterflies. Some of these meadows are sites of special scientific interest which means the wildlife is protected monitored. It’s best to visit these meadowlands in the summer months when they are buzzing with activity and colour.
