Things to Do
Dog Walking
The open space of the green is free to roam and explore because there is no sections or equipment that you would find in a typical park. This environment is perfect to take the dog and let them off the lead. Just be mindful of any children and young people playing ball games in the space.
Cricket
There is a grass wicket maintained and played on by Crossgates Cricket Club.
Ball Games
The village green was traditionally created for the community to gather and play games. One of the most popular pursuits in the park on an average day is people playing any type of ball games. It might be fun, it might be competitive; this green space is perfect for games of football, rounders, rugby, or even a classic game of tag.

A twice a year celebration that’s been happening for decades. The traditional gala way is a celebration of lots of things that piece together some of the foundational identities of Seacroft. Turn up and get involved in a tea tent, silly Olympics, fun fair, dog show, stalls, pace painting, arts and crafts, circus skills and plenty of live music!
History
In the 20th century, cricket matches used to be played on the village green with lots of the locals turning out to watch the match. Having a drink (usually a pint of beer) from the Cricketers Arm on the edge of the boundary.
The sense of togetherness was strong at this time. A donation box was regularly filled at the match, the money shared to support the local community. And if you speak to a local connected to this generation you’ll probably get a fond recollection of get togethers on the Seacroft Village Green.
