The Food

Tao offers diners a choice between hotpot or a la carte options.  The TAO chef specialises in hot pot, dim sum, clay pot rice; all is combined using natural and locally sourced ingredients that creates that uniquely Cantonese flavour on your palette.

Hotpot is a dish that you may not have had the pleasure of tucking into yet. It’s one of those foods that is regularly landing on global lists of foods you need to try!

The hotpot process allows groups to cook dumplings, veggies, and proteins in simmering fragrant broth right in the middle of your table. You start by picking your soup – the hotpot dish is split into two sections to accommodate two different broths – before moving on to your raw ingredients and dipping sauces.

The menu’s massive – it comes with both a hotpot, a la carte and soup menu – with everything from mushroom and meatball platters to king prawns and wagyu tongue. Overall, the menu easily exceeds over 100 item choices and at least 20 Cantonese style vegetables and a small selection of tofu.

If you don’t fancy the hotpot, there is also an extensive a la carte menu with items like dumplings, steak, rice and noodles.
The restaurant aims to accommodate different diets including halal. For vegans, the chef may send out customised extras to add to the hotpot.

How it works?

The server will get the hotpot heated up, and the rest is down to you. All with handy instructions and excellent server support. As tips go we recommend you take it slow, time your cooking and use different chopsticks for raw and cooked meats.
