Sri Non Thai Street Food is a vibrant, family-run Thai restaurant on Great George Street in Leeds city centre, a short walk from Millennium Square. Head Chef Non and his wife Sri bring over 30 years of combined kitchen experience to a menu rooted in authentic Thai street food traditions. The couple started out running a street food stall — first in Huddersfield, then at Trinity Kitchen — before opening their permanent home on Great George Street in 2017. That street food energy carries through into a colourful, welcoming space where the food stays true to its roots.
There are vegan friendly, and vegetarian friendly food options available.

The Food
The menu opens with a strong lineup of starters built for sharing. Chicken Satay arrives marinated in Thai herbs and coconut milk with peanut sauce, while Moo Ping — classic spiced pork skewers glazed with dark soy — delivers smoky, caramelised edges. Hoi Jo stands out among the more unusual options: a deep-fried roll of prawn, pork, crab meat and water chestnut served with plum sauce. Kanom Jeeb, steamed prawn and pork dumplings with dark soy, and Tod Mun Pla, golden-fried Thai fish cakes with sweet chilli, round out a selection that rewards ordering generously. For the table, the Sri Non Platter brings together chicken satays, fish cakes, pork skewers, prawn dumplings and spare ribs for two or more, while a dedicated vegan sharing platter features spring rolls, corn cakes, golden tofu and edamame.
The C-Chef Specials section carries the kitchen’s signature dishes. Pad Ka Pao — stir-fried chilli, garlic and holy basil — is the clear favourite, while the 4 Season Duck pairs creamy red curry with pineapple, tomato and lime leaves. Jungle Curry, made without coconut milk and loaded with herbs, seasonal vegetables and a fiery paste, offers something bolder for those chasing heat. Crispy Belly Pork with Thai gravy and spicy sauces is another standout.
Thai salads bring sharp, punchy flavours: Som Tam Thai combines spicy green papaya with dried shrimp and crushed peanuts, while Larb tosses minced pork, chicken or tofu in fish sauce, lime juice, chilli and roasted rice powder. The rice dish section includes Khao Man Gai — Hainanese chicken on fragrant ginger rice with spicy soy bean sauce and a clear broth — and Khao Moo Dang, roasted red pork over jasmine rice with Thai gravy and sesame seeds.
Soups range from the rich, creamy heat of Tom Yum to the gentler coconut warmth of Tom Kha, both available with chicken, tofu or seafood. Vegetarian and vegan dishes are well represented throughout the menu, with dedicated starters, a vegan sharing platter, and plant-based options across the salads and stir-fries. Gluten-free choices are available, and staff are knowledgeable about allergens.

The Drink
The drinks list opens with a concise wine selection spanning whites, reds and rosé from Spain, Italy, Chile and Argentina, available by the glass or bottle, alongside Il Caggio Prosecco. Singha, the classic Thai lager, is available on draught or bottled — a fitting pairing for the spicier dishes on the menu.
Beyond alcohol, the Thai soft drinks are a highlight in their own right. FOCO lychee, coconut and guava juices sit alongside Pink Milk Tea, Thai Milk Tea with an optional whipped cream topping, and Thai Green Milk Tea — authentic options that go well beyond the usual soft drink offering. Jasmine tea, green tea and ginger tea are served by the pot, while coffee runs from espresso to latte.
The dessert menu brings things to a sweet close with Mango Sticky Rice — ripe mango slices over luscious coconut sticky rice — and Thai-style deep-fried banana in crispy batter with coconut flake, black sesame and caramel sauce.
The Place
The restaurant announces itself from the street with an ornate Victorian arch painted in bold yellow and gold, trimmed with green decorative ironwork and framed by bright red door surrounds. A large glass frontage lets natural light flood the dining room and gives a clear view inside before you step through the door.
Inside, the space runs with a striking two-tone colour scheme: vivid red on the lower walls, white above, separated by a gold accent strip that echoes the exterior palette. Underfoot, a large-format black-and-white chequerboard tile floor adds a retro-café character. Rattan globe pendant lamps cast warm light from above, while red and orange Thai paper lanterns hang between them, adding colour and a sense of festivity.
Dark-topped tables are paired with simple light wood chairs, generously spaced across a mix of two-top and four-top arrangements. One wall features dark wood panelling with a large corkboard covered in pinned customer photos, staff pictures and handwritten notices — a genuine family-run touch. A framed landscape painting of a Thai heritage scene takes pride of place on the opposite wall. The Victorian entrance arch, visible from inside, frames a view of Great George Street and adds architectural character to the room. The overall feel is casual, vibrant and warm — a street food stall that found a permanent home without losing its personality.
