The Food

The kitchen serves a menu of burgers and bar food built around the kind of comfort food that pairs well with a few rounds of Mario Kart. Food is available from opening until 10 PM on most days, with the Sunday kitchen closing a little earlier at 8 PM. Happy hour food runs alongside the drinks deals until 10 PM daily.

The Drink

Gaming-themed cocktails are the main draw at the bar. The menu leans into the venue’s identity with names pulled from gaming culture — the Pokemon Cocktail, Princess Peach Cocktail, Funky Kong and Jigglypuff Cocktails, and the Witcher’s Brew all feature alongside more conventional options like daiquiris. Presentation is theatrical, with some drinks arriving with flames, dry ice, or neon-coloured layers.

Beyond cocktails, there’s a selection of beers, wines and spirits. Happy hour runs from opening until 10 PM every day, covering both drinks and food. Non-alcoholic options include soft drinks and energy drinks.

The Place

The interior leans hard into the gaming aesthetic. Dark walls are lit by strips of neon LED in purple, blue, red and green, giving the whole space a moody, club-like glow. Gaming booths line the room, each fitted with consoles, controllers and screens — Xbox and PlayStation setups sit alongside retro machines and arcade cabinets.

Seating is a mix of wooden tables with upholstered grey chairs around the booth areas, and bar stools along the counter. Branded artwork and gaming iconography decorate the walls between the screens. The bar itself is backed by a wall of bottles and more neon, keeping the visual theme consistent throughout.

Every other Tuesday from 7pm, Pixel Bar hosts a gaming-themed quiz night. Entry is £10 per team (minimum three players), and your table is secured for the rest of the evening with free game time after the quiz. The overall atmosphere is casual and social, pitched somewhere between a late-night bar and a gaming lounge. Private hire is available for larger groups, with the venue holding up to 150 guests.

The Location

Pixel Bar sits on Great George Street, just off Portland Way in the civic quarter of Leeds city centre. It’s a few minutes’ walk from Millennium Square and Leeds City Museum, and close to the General Infirmary. The area is well served by buses along the Headrow corridor.
