CrowdedHouse sits above the city on the fifth and sixth floors of Trinity Leeds, a rooftop restaurant and bar that runs from midday coffee through to late-night drinks. Opened in August 2025 by the team behind Freezer Crowd, the venue takes over the space once home to Angelica and Crafthouse and reimagines it as an all-day destination — modern British dining, a wine-led bar, and a rooftop terrace with panoramic views of the Leeds skyline. The design spreads across multiple distinct rooms, each with its own character, anchored by a striking centrepiece: a full-size mature tree rising through the restaurant floor to the glass ceiling above.
There are vegan friendly, and vegetarian friendly food options available.

The Food
The kitchen works in a modern British bistro register with global flourishes — Yorkshire rhubarb alongside rendang spicing, Hendersons Relish next to chimichurri. The a la carte menu opens with a snack section that sets the tone: Korean fried chicken with sweet and sour rhubarb, rendang-stuffed chicken wings with sambal hijau, and Guinness Isle of Mull cheddar doughnuts.
Starters are where the menu hits its stride. The confit garlic and thyme focaccia with cauliflower cheese spread has become a clear favourite, alongside smoked haddock kedgeree arancini with confit yolk and brown butter espuma. For something more substantial, the short horn beef tartare arrives with burger sauce, smoked confit yolk and beef fat potato crackers. A coal-baked beetroot with goat cheese panna cotta, black olive and soy caramel offers a standout vegetarian option.
Mains range from braised feather blade of beef with champ mash, Jerusalem artichoke and Hendersons Relish to baked treacle-cured salmon with sesame pak choi and ginger and prawn wonton. The grill section features an 8oz Barnsley chop with chimichurri — a popular choice — while the dry-aged smashed patty burger with liquid cheese and beef fat brioche bun holds its own against the more refined plates.
Vegan dishes are clearly marked throughout, including flame-roasted oyster mushrooms with celeriac puree and parsley emulsion. A kids menu and Sunday roast round out the offering.

The Drink
CrowdedHouse takes a wine-first approach. The seven-section list spans sparkling, white, rosé, red and sweet wines sourced globally — France, Italy, Argentina, Spain, Portugal, New Zealand and beyond. Three own-label house pours — CrowdedHouse White, Rosé and Red — anchor the by-the-glass selection, with Champagne from Delamotte and Veuve Clicquot available by bottle and magnum for celebrations.
A concise aperitif menu offers a Negroni, Margarita and Aperol Spritz, while the bar’s character leans more towards wine and conversation than cocktail theatre. Coffee runs from morning through the afternoon — the venue doubles as a spot to work from during quieter hours, with the drinks to match. Soft drinks and non-alcoholic options are also available.
The Place
The restaurant floor delivers the defining moment — a full-size mature tree rises from the centre of the dining room to the glass ceiling, surrounded by deep burgundy channel-tufted banquette booths, cream plaid dining chairs and floor-to-ceiling black steel-framed windows that flood the space with natural light by day and frame the city skyline at night.
Each room carries its own mood. The Lounge pairs sage green velvet tub chairs and cognac leather sofas with globe pendant lighting for a hotel-lobby ease. The Lounge Bar centres on a floor-to-ceiling marble counter with an inverted wine glass rack suspended from a black steel grid overhead. The Bar shifts darker — navy walls, copper globe pendants and teal stools for late-night drinking. A private dining room adds a maximalist note with a dramatic fringe pendant lamp, backlit shelving and bold abstract artwork against tartan wallpaper.
Outside, the Restaurant Terrace offers open-air seating behind a glass balustrade with unobstructed panoramic views across Leeds, furnished with orange bistro chairs and round black pedestal tables.
