The Food

Everything edible at Slap & Pickle is all about the layering. In-between the succulent patties of grass fed Yorkshire prime beef (notably; 40-day dry-aged, rare-breed beef from Swaledale) is indulgent layers of meats (yes more!), cheeses, pickles and sauces that make this place a calorific favourite.

The vegan menu isn’t paltry either with 8 dedicated burgers to choose from. All of the above can come with loaded fries – more layered goodness – to accompany your S&P signature burger. Yes please!

The Drink

Amongst a selection of typical soft drinks you’ll find some S&P trademark milkshakes. Shakes range from your vanilla basic (purist) to the over-indulgent ‘cookie monster’. It’s safe to say you’re not going to be walking away from S&P hungry!

The Place

Beer Hawk is Slap and Pickle’s Leeds flagship restaurant, and one of three sites in the city. The place is raw and ready with canteen benches setup for the inevitable troughing of meat. In typical American style, the food is served through a canteen hatch adorned with flashing neon signs. All that’s missing is staff serving you on roller skates.

From humble beginnings as a pop up in Trinity Kitchen, this burger joint has rapidly become an indie favourite in Leeds and beyond.
